Eyewear Care & Ultrasonic Cleaning
What Else Can Go in an Ultrasonic Cleaner Besides Glasses and Jewellery?
Beyond glasses and jewellery, plenty of small everyday objects are suitable for ultrasonic cleaning: razors and blades, combs and brushes, small tool parts, model-building pieces and coins.
Personal care
Razors and blades: hair and skin flakes lodged between the blades come loose reliably, without wearing down the blades.
Combs and hairbrushes: a handy extra benefit especially in salon settings, between client appointments.
Small parts and tools
Small metal tools (e.g. tweezers, fine screwdrivers) can be freed of grease and dirt residue.
Model-building parts and miniatures: removes glue residue and dust from fine crevices.
Coins: a gentle alternative for collectors compared to chemical cleaners, which can damage the minting.
What doesn't really belong in there
- Electronic devices with unprotected contacts, battery-powered items, and materials with adhesive labels or markings that could come loose from the moisture.
- Wood and similarly absorbent materials – they can swell or warp from the moisture.
- Soft or porous stones like pearls, opals and amber, as well as glued settings (see Ultrasonic cleaners for jewellery and watches for details).
